About Me

I am a fifth year Ph.D. student in economics specializing in macroeconomics, labor economics, and econometrics. The focus of my research is on education and its importance for output and economic growth. I currently have three working papers. I am a co-author of a theoretical analysis examining the optimal allocation of family and government education spending across early and late childhood. For my most current project, I use Sala-i-Martin et al.'s (2004) Bayesian Averaging of Classical Estimates method to determine what education variables are the most important for economic growth.

Along with my research, I am equally devoted to teaching and currently teach Principles of Macroeconomics.

I am entering the job market this fall and will complete all Ph.D. requirements in the spring. My curriculum vitae along with my teaching philosophy and research statement are available to the left of the page.

In my free time I enjoy walking my dog Patches, playing sports, watching the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs (no matter how bad they are), and reading. I also volunteer at the local animal shelter.
