Jean was a master mason. He was a member of the Giffard colony of1634. He and Mathurine Robin are among the 94 persons named on theHebert Monument in Quebec as Les Premiers Colons de Quebec. He andMathurine Robin were among the 3,380 pioneers studied by the PRDH.

GUYON DU BUISSON, JEAN (senior), master mason, pioneer at beauport; b.at Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Mortagne in Perche; d. 30 May 1663.
On 14 March 1634, at Mortagne, Guyon and his fellow-countrymanCloutier signed an undertaking with Robert Giffard. Guyon settled atBeauport that same year, and a year or two later brought out his wife,Mathurine Robin and his children, of whom he had at least eight. Whenhe received from Giffard an arriere-fief near the Riviere du Buisson,he assumed that nobiliary surname. He died 30 May 1663. Several of hisdescendants now bear the name Dion. Honorius Provost.
