Pierre (Michel) Michaud ⁽⁹⁵⁹⁾ was born about 1640 in Fontenay-le-Comte, Poitou, France.⁽¹⁴⁰⁾ He died in 1702 in St-Louis, Kamouraska, Quebec.⁽⁹⁶⁰⁾ In March 1656 Pierre indentured himself to Jacques Pepin to go to Quebec for 3 years. He crossed from LaRochelle on the ship La Fortune in 1656. He lived on Beaupre coast, and then obtained land on Ile d'Orleans in 1667. He married about 1670. The Michaud family lived from 1671 on Ile-aux- Oies, then from 1674 on Ile-aux-Grues, and then to the south shore, L'islet. The family moved in 1695 to Kamouraska.

He was married to Marie Ancelin in Nov 1667 in La Visitation, Chateau-Richer, Quebec.⁽⁹⁶¹⁾

3037. Marie Ancelin was born on 7 May 1651 in Notre Dame Parish, La Rochelle, France.⁽⁹⁶²⁾ She died on 18 Apr 1729 in St-Louis, Kamouraska, Quebec. ⁽⁹⁶³⁾ Came with father Rene and stepmother Marie Juin from La Rochelle to Quebec in 1666, when she was 11. Marie and Pierre Michaud had ten children 1672-1692; Pierre was the fifth.
