Rene Ancelin was born about 1614 in Hermenault, Poitou, France.⁽¹¹²⁹⁾ He died on 20 Nov 1695 in Rivier-Ouelle, Kamouraska, Quebec. ⁽¹¹³⁰⁾ Our Ancestors V. 2, ch. 19 describes Rene Ancelin as a thread-mill worker. Following death of wife Claire Rousselot c. 1661, he remarried on 19 Jan 1665 Marie Juin. They emigrated with daughter Marie Ancelin to New France in 1666. Family lived first at Ange-Gardien.

He was married to Claire Rousselot on 3 Nov 1647 in Notre Dame-de-Cogne, La Rochelle, France.

6075. Claire Rousselot was born about 1625 in France. She died on 18 Aug 1661 in Notre Dame-de-Cogne, La Rochelle, France.⁽¹¹³¹⁾ Claire and Rene Ancelin had five children 1649-1660 in La Rochelle; Marie was the third. Claire died in France. Children were:
