1370. Mathurin Roy was born about 1610 in Notre Dame-de-Cogne, La Rochelle, France. He died before 1681 in St-Charles, Charlesbourg, Quebec.⁽⁴³⁸⁾ Jette reports that he was a master mason in Quebec in 1647. He was married to Marguerite Bire about 1638 in La Rochelle, France.⁽⁴³⁹⁾

1371. Marguerite Bire was born about 1616 in Notre Dame-de-Cogne, La Rochelle, France. She died before Dec 1675 in St-Charles, Charlesbourg, Quebec. ⁽⁴⁴⁰⁾ Marguerite and Mathurin Roy had four children c. 1639-1659; Marie-Catherine was the fourth. This family had come to Quebec by 1647. Children were:
