Geobiology

(GEOL 705, 3 Credit Hours, Recitation)

Geobiology is a survey of the classic and current literature on topics of mutual interest to students and instructor. Papers are selected by the instructor, and read, summarized, and presented by the students in an informal seminar environment. Class meetings are usually in the evenings and normally involve popcorn.

Some topics considered in the past include:

Shell Microstructures
Pyritization of Fossils
Origin of Life
Exotic Biological Minerals
Periodicities and Growth
Boring Organisms (!!)

This course is for graduate students and advanced undergraduates in Geology and Biology.

Dr. Clark teaches this course every few years.
