Graduate Students

Romil Bhandavat

Romil is pursuing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering. His project involves large scale synthesis of polymer-derived ceramic nanowires and their composites for energy-based devices. He received Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan.

Lamuel Abraham

Lamuel has recently graduated with a M.S. thesis degree and working on his PhD studies in Mechanical Engineering. He received B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University in India in 2010.

Undergraduate Students

Uriel Barerra (Spring 2011-current)

Uriel is a Freshman pursuing B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently assisting graduate students with synthesis and imaging of 2-D nanostructures using SEM. He is supported through the “First Generation Scholars Program”.

Alexander Wu (Spring 2012-current)

Alex is a Sophomore in Mechanical engineering w/ minor in physics. He grew up in Carbondale, KS.

He is hard working at everything and dedicated into his work. He is involved with the Tau Beta Pi chapter, a chapter that only the top 10 % quartile of students get into. Alex’s favorite subject is Physics and he is currently assisting graduate students with electron microscopy and electrical property measurement of nanocomposites.

Quentin Adams (Fall 2009-Summer 2011)

Quentin completed B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in May 2011. He grew up in Garden City, Kansas and enjoys hanging out with friends and family, as well as watching and playing sports.  He accepted a full-time position at Chevron in Houston, TX.

Sam Browning (Fall 2009-Spring 2010)

Sam completed Bachelors degree in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering with a minor in Physics.  He was born and raised just outside of Topeka, KS in a little town called Dover.  Outside of the lab he enjoys running, cycling, wakeboarding and pretty much anything else outdoors.

Manuel Garcia (Fall 2009-Spring 2010)

Manuel DeJesus Garcia graduated in May 2010. He has accepted a full-time job with ExxonMobil in Houston, TX.
