Conclusions

This project has explored several issues behind the emerging field of Web typography and its control by Cascading Style Sheets. In particular, we have examined:

A brief literature review revealed little scholarly study of this topic. The few articles uncovered, however, discussed both print typography and Web typography in positive tones, exposing reliable details about this discipline’s ability to enhance human communication.

The CSS code samples offered here create a paragraph that is typographically styled in only the most basic terms. Readers, especially those interested in practicing Web typography, are encouraged to learn more through the Resource List. It is clear from both manipulating the CSS and contemplating any style changes’ effects on users that designers will need patience, time, and a strong developer network to create and implement new styles that satisfy all of a site’s constituencies.
