I am an Associate Professor
and Director of the
Geographic
Information Systems Spatial Analysis Laboratory (GISSAL) in
the Department of Geography at Kansas State
University. In addition, I am an Authorized ESRI instructor, serve as the Director of
both the Graduate Certificate in GIScience
and
Undergraduate GIS Certificate programs at K-State, and am a delegate
to the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS).
My research interests focus on the integration of GIS and satellite remote sensing with environmental models, biogeography, agricultural biosecurity, water resources, and spatial epidemiology. Teaching interests include the application of geospatial technologies in environmental research, geographic information systems (GIS), computer mapping/digital cartography, physical geography, satellite remote sensing and digital image processing, water resources and river systems, climatology, grassland biogeography, and geographic visualization.
Please see the tabbed sections above for overviews, additional links, and more detailed information concerning my research, teaching, and service activities. Students interested in undergraduate hourly employment or graduate research assistantships should contact me using information that can be found to the left.
