About the Contents...

The selection of materials in For Our Children made us all aware how deeply legal abortion has touched public life. Many whose testimonies are found in these pages are able to share their experiences only after many years of sorrow. Because some still prefer to remain anonymous, and because they speak in behalf of millions, all are published anonymously. Who, indeed, can see the word "millions" and believe it true.

The staff expresses sincere appreciation to all who shared their memories, searched for clippings, verified information, updated statistics, and gave permission for us to reprint materials. The scripture states that all who minister to a prophet will receive a prophet's reward. So may it be!

The illustrations were prepared in the year preceding publication by gifted artist and teacher Terry Mulhern, who worked faithfully and had nearly completed them before the book was planned. Although she did not know their destination, she was obedient to the vision.

Pictures of the unborn are usually used in pro-life publications. Many people cannot relate to them, but are always captivated by pictures of babies and children. This, after all, is what we are really talking about...the preservation of life as it grows into that child intended from conception.

The pages of information and statistics are intended as a reference as you share with your "public". Some seem dry, and not as compelling as testimonies, but with information comes power. It is worth your time to commit some of this information to memory so that it comes matter-of-factly in conversation. Thus, we win the hearts of our friends, when we simply and easily share what we know.
